Luis Reyes began his work with Kit Carson Electric in 1984 as a system engineer before becoming CEO and general manager in 1993.  Kit Carson Electric also has a successful Internet division, a high-tech call center and competitive local exchange telephone services.  Mr. Reyes serves on the boards of the Kit Carson Museum, the Taos Business Alliance, Citizens of Economic Diversity, Leadership New Mexico, Taos County Chamber of Commerce, and the Hispano Chamber of Commerce.

Larry Mapes
Valverde Energy, Inc.

Larry Mapes has been installing solar hot water systems in New Mexico for over 25 years, has lobbied professionally in the New Mexico State Legislature for renewable energy since 1999.  In 2002, he formed Valverde Energy Inc, licensed for electrical and mechanical contracting with emphasis on renewable energy. He is presently Taos Chapter Vice President of NM Solar Energy Association, board member of Sustain Taos, adjunct professor and is Program Coordinator for Sustainable Curriculum at UNM Taos. He serves on a committee of the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) which has promulgated a national certification program for solar heating installers.
